PRIVIT® and the National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) WorkTogether to Enhance the Safety of Youth Sports
Dedicated to improving the health and safety of young athletes, PRIVIT® announced today its partnership with the National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS). The NCYS is known for being a reputable resource for promoting healthy lifestyles and safe environments for stronger neighborhoods and communities for over 60 million of its member organizations registered participants. PRIVIT® is passionate about its vision to improve safety in sports and organized activities with a focus on the importance of screening individual health histories before participating. The synergy between the NCYS and PRIVIT® will improve their outreach in the sports community.
PRIVIT® offers organizations a secure, easy to use, online system, called Privit Profile™ (formerly Privit e-PPE) an electronic pre-participation evaluation, to help athletes, parents, and medical professionals collect, protect, and share personal health information. Every athlete in the United States must pass a physical evaluation to play a school sport. The medical history is the most important part of the evaluation, which is supplemented by listening to the heart, checking blood pressure, and reviewing family medical history. Privit Profile™ enables parents to enter their child’s health history information in a HIPAA compliant environment that uses military grade encryption to ensure data security. Parents enjoy the ease of use and the flexibility of being able to update their children’s health profiles on a regularly, thus eliminating the redundancy of filling out annual paper forms. In addition, Privit Profile™ enables medical personnel to be more proactive in their pre-screening evaluation process by helping to identify and mitigate health risks specific to each player.
