Join them in using National Youth Sports Week as an awareness campaign opportunity to promote your own organization and encourage others to promote their programs.

Here are a few ideas on how you can celebrate National Youth Sports Week:

  • Contact the media and ask for a story highlighting your organization.
  • Contact your elected officials and ask for an official proclamation recognizing the important role youth sports plays in promoting healthy lifestyles.
  • Contact the parents, athletes, organization supporters to hold a special event…recognition at a sporting event, or hold a bowl-a-thon, 5K run or the like.

The National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) will be celebrating with a physical activity Expo in the Cannon House of Representatives Office Building Caucus Room on Capitol Hill Washington D.C. from 11:00am – 1:00pm on NCYS Youth Sports Day Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

At this event the National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) and AIG will present the 2015 S.T.R.I.V.E. Award for Organization of the Year! This award recognizes organizations that embrace a “kids first” approach, evidenced by their implementation of recognized best practices and policies that protect kids by promoting responsible health, wellness and safety within their organization.
